This is a list of books that I have found helpful in my recruitment. This list will continually be updated as I find books or have them suggested to me by other recruiters/mobilizers.
- Postmission – a discussion of missions from a postmodern perspective.
- Mentoring for Mission – some excellent principles on how to recruit and mobilize. I’ve developed a lot of my mobilization philosophy from this book. (Peter Slayton aka missionmobilizer)
- Global Missiology for the 21st Century – a big-picture view of where missions is headed, and therefore where our focus should be in mobilization. Available for free download.
- The Emerging Church – vintage Christianity for new generations. by Dan Kimball. What does church done from a postmodern perspective look like? And by extension, how does this affect missions?
- When Generations Collide – generational conflict in the workplace and how to resolve it. by Lynne C. Lancaster and David Stillman. If’ you’ve ever had generational conflict in your mission organization, especially with your Millenial and Xer recruits, this book will have some useful insights.
